'.....the listeners enjoyed a magnificent and, due to their otherness, extremely captivating interpretation at the highest level.' — Rheinische Post (2023)
biography
After winning numerous awards at international contests including 1st prize in Viotti competition in Italy in 2017, Konstantin became a true discovery at the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition. Besides the bronze medal, he also received the title "Artist of Radio Russia" and the Audience Award from the Musical Life magazine. He confirmed his title of the "public favorite" when received the Audience Prize by the F.A.Z. (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) at the International German Piano Award that he won in 2022.
'The graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, who won third prize at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019, refused any excessive extravagance and played very precisely, contoured and clearly articulated.' — Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (2022)
'...Konstantin Emelyanov is a gem of the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition. Indeed he makes a difference with his remarkably clever programme, unconventional choice of works, and harmonious interpretations, where technical stability is no obstacle to unconcealed emotions, temperament is curbed by thought, and the intuitive sense of style maintains a perfect balance between the performer's vision and the author's will in every piece. ' — Musical Life magazine
The pianist fascinates the audience and the critics with his distinguished taste for combining musical pieces in his programs. In March 2023, he presented a new CD with compositions by Debussy, Prokofiev, and Barber that was released on the Fuga Libera label. It received 5* from Diapason ("Un pianiste de première classe et un interprète qui ose.") and Classica ("Le jeune Konstantin Emelyanov expose un talent indéniable.") magazines and was immediately highly acclaimed by the journalists.
'The technical brilliance of Konstantin Emelyanov is not surprising, given his numerous awards, the expressiveness and tonal nuance of his interpretations is impressive. But it is especially the combination of these three works or cycles that makes the CD of the pianist, who was born in 1994 and trained in Moscow and Catania (Sicily), so convincing.'

"He mastered even the most diabolical (often hidden) pitfalls of the famous piano concerto (Rachmaninoff third) with flying colors. The pianist, ......who is not obviously trimmed for too big a show effect - he simply lets what is already happening in the score big and beautiful happen. There is truth in the music itself."
